Sunnyside Farm: Our Story

We are a small family farm and state-inspected poultry slaughterhouse in Northern Maine managed full-time by owners/operators Joseph and Clare Desrosiers and their seven wonderful (and sometimes exasperating) children. Since 2006, we have raised all natural chickens and turkeys. Our chickens are not given hormones, antibiotics or other chemical additives. From their arrival as chicks to maturity, we feed them all natural rations. Additionally, we supplement their diet with an herb extract to maintain better health. We also grow u-pick blueberries, raspberries, pumpkins, gourds, corn and apples. Finally, we raise bees and sell honey.
We are truly a family operated farm – our children help in all the facets of our poultry farm, from establishing day old chicks to mucking manure and assisting in the processing of birds. We are committed to providing our customers with quality meat and produce that we feed our own family; all natural and locally raised. Thank you for supporting our farm and our family.
